Bit of a special show this week. We recorded half the show in Berlin! We talk to Berlin electronica label Leisure System founder and label manager, Ost Gut Ton recording artist and Berghain resident Barker (of Barker & Baumecker, and previously known as Voltek) about the label, the club and  everything that’s happening in the world of future electronica and bass music. He also has a never before heard, 100% exclusive track for us in the form of a forthcoming Leisure System release. Fascinating stuff.

Elsewhere there’s the usual mix of brand new indie, disco and all manner of non-genre excellence, featuring brand new tracks from Casiokids, M83, Toro Y Moi and Two Wounded Birds. We also pay tribute to the wonderful DJ Mehdi whose untimely death at the age of 34 was announced this week. There is a classic track from him and Chromeo, as well as Aeroplane’s tribute Big Boys Don’t Cry.

Another week, another raft of excellent new music. We’ve got the new singles from Girls (SO EXCITED about the new album), Love Inks, Casiokids (AMAZING), Two Wounded Birds (ALSO AMAZING), Django Django and M83. We’ve also got tracks off incredibly exciting forthcoming albums by Toro Y Moi and Kid Creole & The Coconuts.
There’s also a track from PJ Harvey’s wonderful Let England Shake in recognition of it winning the Mercury Music Prize this week – richly deserved in our book!
Recently released dance numbers from The Rapture, Breakbot and Azari & III keep the selection eclectic, and things are rounded off, as has often been the case recently, by Psychemagik. Put your feet up and enjoy!

Special guest hosts for this weeks show are a pair of bands on Warp Records, the hard-touring New York punk funkers !!! and new post-pop duo The Hundred In The Hands. With Nic (!!! Lead singer) on the tunes, the two bands interviewed each other, talked about their bands and their mutual friends in New York, and generally larked about having fun, with just the not-so-steady hand of Matt to keep things on track! Unguarded and fun.

Very Special guests this week are Darwin Deez, and Andrew Deez from Darwin’s band. We let Darwin loose on Totally Wired and BOY did he deliver! Little did we know, Darwin had been presenting on High School radio since he was a youth, and he’s got the chops! This show was the most fun to record – just having fun in the studio, sticking tunes on and chatting about whatever came up. I defy you not to find Darwin Deez’s enthusiasm infectious! CHECK IT OUUUTTT!

Guest Hosts Jeremy and Elisabeth from Summer Camp highjack the airwaves with their holographic checkout selection, words on their unique working relationship, their favorite records and a special, exclusive live version of their forthcoming single Round The Moon recorded by our in house expert Mr Matt Barker.

Also Matt spins a cracking remix of Snoop Dogg’s Gangster Love by Mayor Hawthorn, plenty of that LOOOOVE Funk we’ve been hearing so much about and a new DFA release from Discodeine featuring Jarvis Cocker. Also breaking news from local heroes The Agitator as Matt reveals the date of their Concorde 2 Support slot with KRS One. So, this week Matt has managed to corner the infamous Tom and Tom of So Darn So. “We invented “Love Funk”, We release RECORDS NOT CD’s. Sometimes we organise live performance based sound shows”. They’ll be spinning plastic from some of the best bands we’ve never heard and telling us exactly when and where we can see them. You’ll also be getting your weekly dose of Sexy Lust Funk, Broken CD players and spleen buttering new records.

Fresh new noise from the scene and circuit of Brighton and London’s premier venues. Featuring the Agitator, Cloud Control, Wild Palms, the superb La Shark and lots of bantering, chittering and chattering.

With special guest Eddie The Goat Boy, famous man about town and DJ for that BIG indie night “Hold Up!”, bounding to Matt’s side for a back flip into Super Funk, Mega Pop and words from the Goat on his Dub-Step discovery; “What is this Dub-Step?!”. Does anyone know?

There’s also an exclusive interview with one of Brighton’s only real super heroes; Dr Amazing shows face to spin the latest record from Justice Force 5 and tells Matt about his exploits and superpowers. There is literally no room in this show for more… Pucker.

Well. This is it listeners. Dionne has left the building. Indeed, she’s left the COUNTRY! Yes it’s true, she’s shacked up in good old Norway, and left Matt all on his lonesome to hold the fort at Totally Wired HQ.

There really isn’t anything more to say, other than, please enjoy the last of the tasty waffles (for the time being at least), and the tunes, which Dionne picked out as some of her faves from the last couple of years that she’s helmed Totally Wired. *sob!*
